What is a hard link?

A hard link is a link pointing to a file, instead of the – more common – soft link that points to a file name.

A single file can have multiple file names and the modification of any of them will affect all the others.

Hyper-V is a native hypervisor developed by Microsoft

It’s available in two variants:

  • Hyper-V Server [2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 and 2016], a stand-alone package
  • As an installable role for Windows Server 2008 and higher
